New Citadel Bridge
We completely redesigned our user interface to make connecting a payroll account simple, straightforward, and enjoyable.
At Citadel, we’re constantly improving and innovating, so it was important we brought in the right person to keep us on track and push us into continuous phases of growth. We’re fortunate to have Darshana Shetty joining us as Citadel’s Head of Product! She brings a wealth of experience from building products at PayPal, Venmo, and Afterpay and has already led us to huge improvement in this current user interface (UI) launch and has much more for us to look forward to on the roadmap.
So what can you expect from the new and improved UI updates and what can we see coming down the line?
Consistent, New UI
Citadel has taken a mobile-first approach to UI so that it can be completely ‘out-of-the-box’ so that the new interface and experience could be easy and digestible. As long as you have the integration: you don’t need to do anything.
We see that a majority of our end users are on the iOS platform and we think about integration not just as how it translates on the web, but how it translates to mobile apps. We’ve followed material design guidelines but keeping iOS guidelines in mind to make our user experience of working across different devices completely seamless.
Moving forward, regardless of how or where you access Citadel, our user experience would be consistent, accessible, and easy to use.
The more feedback we received, the more we discovered that end users were struggling to find their payroll providers. Between synonyms, subsidiaries, branches, spacing, uppercase lettings, and lowercase letters, and so forth, it was becoming a hassle and we wanted to make sure we found a solution.
In the improved UI/UX, Citadel has released a new search function that will have roughly seven million businesses and employers to search from; we do all of the heavy-lifting for you. With our mapping in-house, you’ll no longer have to struggle to figure out who your payroll provider is (as you might have to with some of our competitors.)
As with subsidiaries and branches, Citadel handles the logic to show subsidiaries, acquisitions, sister companies and so forth based on the search criteria, to make the process for our end users much more simplified and seamless. We have also updated our database to provide a personalized experience for our gig-economy workers based on roles, if they are employees, drivers, dashers, shoppers etc.
Citadel provides step-by-step guidance on workflow and process to help create better behaviors and educate end users on best practices so verification tasks can be completed easily and efficiently.
After many rounds of user testing and feedback from clients, we saw an area of weakness, end users unaware of their payroll credentials. To alleviate the pain, Citadel has mapped over 100,000 employers’ businesses and will constantly be striving to improve coverage.
We’ll also be able to support single-sign-on (SSO) through the Citadel Bridge and help end users reset their credentials as needed.
Now you can customize the look and feel of the Citadel Bridge. You can change things such as text, colors, links and much more. This way, you can show your branding and there won’t be a distinction between your experience and the Citadel Bridge.
Now that the new UI is released, we want to continue providing a lot more customization to you, our clients and have lined up more exciting features and products on the roadmap.
One of the next big items we’re working on is end user education and awareness. How can we help through the workflows? How can we make the process easier?
We’d love to hear your feedback on the new UI and what you’d like to see from Citadel as we continue to grow and innovate!
